PRESIDENT'S Corner
Happy March. As most are aware we have been experiencing a lot of utility work in the neighborhood which is causing some understandable frustrations. With the digging that occurred with Xfinity and now Metronet in the middle of winter snowy/muddy mix not fun! We wanted to let you know that we have been in contact with the company, Bath Township and Clinton County to voice our concerns and get answers to some pressing questions. First of all it is important to share that the decision to place these cable lines is not in the HOA board pervue it is a decision that the County can make without consulting the homeowners based upon the placement of such lines. However, we were given the steps to take to submit concerns and any damages that has occurred as a result of the installation. We have submitted concerns already related to the vehicles and equipment being left for numerous days or weeks. To submit go to:
Metronetconstruction.com>>Construction Hub>>Ask a question
From there you put in your information (name, address, etc). You click what your concern is: property impacted exposed line
are some choices, there are more, but you can only choose one. You can upload photos and there is a comment section. Put as much detail as possible, mention if there is damage. This will be forwarded to the Field Supervisor in our area.
We were assured by the Clinton County Road Commission, Mark Trotter, that Fiber Specialist (company contracted by Metronet) will clean up the messes made and will take care of the lawns there were disrupted. He will help however in the event it is not taken care of accordingly.
Reminders as we transition into spring:
1. Please be mindful of street parking (especially in cul de sacs), so that the snow plows/garbage trucks can come through. We are likely to get one more hit of snow
2. Keep your dogs on leash when walking in the neighborhood. Even the best trained furry friends can get away from us. The chances are lessened when leashed. (per Bath Charter Twp. Section 10-3 found on Twp Website)
3. Remember to clean up after your pet. No one wants to see the snow clear and have surprises all over their lawn.
4. Slow down in the sub. Stop signs outlined in white are not optional and weather is always an additional factor.
5. Remember the sidewalks associated with your property are your responsibility to clear snow that accumulates in a timely manner.
As we move into spring continue to pay attention to lifts and shifts in your sidewalks. As per Bath Township, sidewalk maintenance/repair is the responsibility of the homeowner.
